Dr. Marie Stagg

(PT, DPT)

I am the owner of, and primary practitioner for, Elder Athlete Physical Therapy, PLLC. I obtained a Doctorate in Physical Therapy (DPT) from The University of Miami Miller School of Medicine in Coral Gables, Florida. There, I was bestowed both the Clinical Excellence Award and the Steven J. Rose Student Research Scholarship Award. My earlier degrees include a BS from West Point, a MS from Central Michigan University, and a MS from the US Army War College.

I transitioned to physical therapy after retiring, as a full colonel, from 30+ years of active-duty military service as a counterintelligence special agent. This included combat tours in Iraq, Afghanistan, and Kuwait. My awards from that service include two Legion of Merit medals and three Bronze Stars.

I am an avid sports enthusiast. I played 4-years of college soccer at West Point then continued to play competitively in clubs around the world for decades. My last team competition was with the University of Miami’s intramural team at 56 y/o. I earned two karate black belts, have competed in marathons, running competitions and many years of triathlons. I ski, snow and e-skateboard, still play pick-up basketball and dabble in pickleball. My latest sport focus is golfing, and I have recently taken up sailing as well.

My business is built on many years of leadership and training, my lifelong passion for athletics and competition, and my personal injury recovery experience.

Let’s just say that after 10 major surgeries and a life of hard physical impacts I feel your pain and understand your desire to stay in the game.

I promise to work with you to:

  • Maximize what you can do,
  • With whatever circumstances you are presented with,
  • Regardless of age or athletic level.

Your personal best is my priority mission.
